Poetry Slam: The Winter’s Unfurl Invites Local Voices to Take the Stage During Arts Week Orleans 2026
Orleans, MA — The Orleans Cultural District Committee invites poets from across Cape Cod and beyond to participate in “The Winter’s Unfurl,” a dynamic poetry slam taking place during Arts Week Orleans 2026.
Scheduled for Saturday, April 25 from 3–5pm at Town Cove Tap House (22A Main Street, Orleans), this free, community-centered event will be hosted by poet Natasha W. and will feature original spoken word performances exploring themes of awakening, growth, and transformation.
Poets of all experience levels are encouraged to share their work in an engaging and expressive format that celebrates both language and movement.
Submission Guidelines
Participants are invited to prepare an original piece that reflects one or more of the following themes:
What does it mean to awaken?
Patience
“When I was a sprout…”
Each performance should:
Be 3 minutes or less
Be at least partially memorized
Include an element of physical movement as part of the performance
How to Participate
Poets interested in performing are encouraged to register in advance online through the Orleans Cultural District website.
This lively and expressive event offers a unique opportunity for poets to connect with the community, share their voice, and be part of a creative celebration that marks the transition from winter to spring.
