Solstice Sparkle

The Orleans Cultural District invites residents and visitors to embrace the magic, reflection, and community spirit of the winter season during Solstice Sparkle, a two-day celebration featuring free family-friendly events designed to inspire creativity, stillness, and joy.

Solstice Sparkle offers activities for all ages on Saturday, December 20 and Sunday, December 21. Events include a special Solstice Storytime & Craft, a cozy, family-friendly gentle yoga session, and a serene walk through a unique star-shaped labyrinth on the Village Green.

Saturday, December 20

10:30–11:30 AM
Solstice Storytime & Craft
Families are invited to Snow Library’s Children’s Room for a winter-themed storytime and hands-on craft led by Youth Services Director Kim Auclair.

2:30–3:30 PM
Discover Your Inner Sparkle: Gentle Yoga for Everyone
Enjoy a cozy afternoon of gentle, family-friendly yoga led by Jennifra Fettig. Participants are encouraged to bring a blankie for added warmth and comfort.
Location: Snow Library — Craine Room

In lieu of a registration fee, attendees are invited to bring a donation of non-perishable food for the newly renovated Lower Cape Outreach Food Pantry.

Sunday, December 21

Walk the Solstice Labyrinth Path
Mark the first day of winter on the Village Green (next to Snow Library) by walking a one-of-a-kind star-shaped labyrinth. Participants are encouraged to breathe deeply, move intentionally, and enjoy a quiet moment of peace and reflection.

A Celebration of Community and Local Culture

The Orleans Cultural District encourages all attendees to explore and support local businesses throughout the district during the holiday season. The Solstice Sparkle weekend is designed to highlight Orleans’ vibrant creative community while offering meaningful, accessible ways for families and neighbors to gather and celebrate together.
